Christian Students Bullied by Anti-Bullying Speaker

Mark 13:13 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

The founder of the “It Gets Better” anti-bullying project called Christian students a foul name and delivered profanity laden attacks on the Bible at a conference for teen journalists.

Dan Savage told the audience to ignore the “(explicative deleted) in the Bible” and heckled students who walked out during his self-described “beating up the Bible.” The talk included sexual innuendos and Savage’s telling the audience about his partner’s appearance in a speedo.

The speech was announced before the event as addressing anti-bullying.

The National Scholastic Press Association released a statement where they offered no apology for the comments made by Savage. Their only comment addressing the incident was that they wished Savage had “stayed more on target for the audience of teen journalists.”

  1. The speaker AND those who didn’t walk out need our prayers. Thanks Robert, for your words of faith.

  2. Robert – so nicely said. Is it ok if I take a quote or two of yours and use on my FB? I will NOT use your name. I love how you said “there will always be those opposed to the bible, that doesnt change the truth.”
    Awesome words!

  3. Thank you Robert for your words of encouragement as we fight the good fight. Franky, I’m so sick of disease, and bullying and rotten sin and, etc. etc….I was findng myself getting a little negative. Thank you for the remnder. Blessings!

  4. Love the sinner, hate the sin. Jesus has directed us to carry on very difficult tasks. There are times we are challenged beyond our own strength, but those are the times we ask our Lord to lead and that’s when we see how God works in us and through us. Dan Savage took the time to push his homosexual agenda on people he knew would oppose his diatribe of the bible. There are people who will always oppose the bible; that doesn’t change the truth. Fighting for the truth has been one of the battles Christians have been challenged with in order to bring the Gospel into the light. Keep fighting and remember who is right along side of us, our Precious Lord Jesus; that’s a winning combination.
