Luke 21:12 “But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
A Coast Guard admiral told a gathering of Christians that within the U.S. military people of faith are being told to stay quiet.
“This is not a Christian issue,” Rear Admiral William Lee said. “It is not a Jewish issue or a Muslim issue or a Hindu issue. This is an American issue.”
Lee said that religious freedom in the military is under direct attack and that service men and women are told to hide their faith in Christ. He said lawyers have been threatening soldiers through lawsuits and harassment.
“Your armed forces, the sons and daughters of the men and women like you — are being told to hide that light under a basket,” Lee said. “I am coming out today to tell you I am not going to run from my religious beliefs, from my right under the Constitution to tell a young man there is hope.”
Lee added that regulations tell officers to refer people in spiritual need to chaplains but “there’s not enough chaplains to go around.” He said lawyers told him that giving a Bible to someone in need would be a violation of rules.
Lee’s talk comes on the heels of an Army briefing last month that referred to evangelical Christians and Catholics as examples of religious extremists just like Al-Qaeda and Hamas.
May God raise up Joshua’s & Caleb’s in our day, in Yashua’s name amen!
One of the first songs I learned as a child was “this little light of mine” “Hide it under a bushel NO!!” I pray for the courage of all military believers to NOT hide that light!! Share the hope and love!!!
IF GOD BR FOR US, WHO CAN STAND AGAINST US….THAT’S FROM GODS MOUTH..WHEN ARE WE GOING TO STOP BEING SILENCED BY FEAR AND COME TOGETHER AS ONE IN CHRIST…….
It is really ridiculous that evengelical Christians are called religious extremeists like Al-Qaeda and Hamas. We dont go around blowing people up and killing people for their beliefs. We really need to pray for our leaders and government because these things that are being said and these laws being passed are coming from leadership in the government.
