Court Rules Against Christian Forced To Attend Islamic Worship

Mark 13:13 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

An appeals court has ruled a police officer that was ordered to attend a Muslim worship service and then was punished for refusing due to his Christian faith, did not have his religious freedoms violated by the police department.

The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals claims that despite being ordered to attend the worship service, “no informed, reasonable observer” could say the order was an endorsement of Islam.

Captain Paul Fields, who said that as a Christian he could not participate in an event that was worshipping what he considered a false God, was suspended for two weeks without pay, demoted and prohibited from receiving any kind of promotion for one year for refusal to attend the “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” at the mosque.

Fields’ attorney Robert Muise of the American Freedom Law Center, plans to appeal the ruling saying that the court chose to ignore the truth that detrimental actions were taken against Fields solely for exercising his freedom of religion.

“He was singled out for discriminatory treatment and punished because he raised a religious objection to the order,” Muise said.  “That is religious discrimination, pure and simple.”

  1. Bless the Lord we are in the last days spoken of in the bible, He`s coming soon and very soon. We are going to see the King! “The dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up with him in the clouds and so shall we ever be!”” Even so Lord Jesus come quickly”

  2. Maybe we should say in a similar circumstance that “I can worship Jesus in that Mosque ” For every where my feet go I can claim for Jesus” that`s scriptural, but I must worship my Lord robustly and speak in the spirit as he gives me utterance. I do think the dear man declining was correct if they insist he worship Allah but they can not force him to speak Allah`s name. By the time we are done speaking forth Jesus` name they may not want us back but maybe they will get convicted and get saved. Let us hear from the Lord and obey. Bless this dear officer Lord for his obedience and his love for you. Lord deal with the Court Of Appeals and anyone else who persecutes this man and others.

  3. I agree whole-heartedly with the first comment above, that is, Scottie Schaeffer’s comment above!

If the situation was indeed contemplated to take place in the REVERSE case – that is, with the higher-ranked police officials contemplating on forcing Muslim rank-and-file officers to attend Christian-church services for “sensitivity training”; that accordingly, even the very THOUGHT would, BEFOREHAND; cause the police brass to SHUTTER out of FEAR for the very POTENTIAL of violence to erupt out of the local Muslim community. This in NOT to “suggest” that ALL Muslims indeed would “break out” in violence, being incensed for such an “insulting” condescending political move. BUT, no question, you’d better believe that there’d be the typical STEREOTYPICAL fearful bigoted response, on the part of the police officials, for the very FEAR of Muslims becoming violent on such a move!

They’ll readily “pick on” Christians, since they are believed to “turn the other cheek”, as Christ commanded, and thus are believed to be taught to be NON-VIOLENT.

  4. When the rule of men conflicts with the rule of GOD we must stand with the rule of GOD, even if it brings consequences that have negative results to us. Remember our Lord Jesus Christ will reward you for standing with Him and His laws. We are to be at peace with all men but we must do it standing firm in our faith in Christ Jesus.

  5. Thats what I would have done. i would have taken my Bible & sat & read it & sang christinan songs that they probably would have asked me to leave. lol

  6. Fran, I agree with every thing you say. We need a group of strong christian leaders across America to unite in leading us. Most of us are not leaders and are feeling helpless as to how to fight this increasing assault against America’s christian heritage.

  7. As a police officer you come in contact with many different people from many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. As a citizen, I would hope that the officers serving me are educated and trained to work with people of varying backgrounds.

  8. It is possible to impeach federal judges by Congress. it will take massive efforts by Christians willing to gather signatures on petitions to send to their congressional Reps & Senators. We were asleep for so long it’s almost too late, but the sleeping giant seems to be waking up!! We can clean out Congress in November; vote for new leaders who love Jesus; then work to turn our country back to its origins of worshiping God; standing for what’s right; respecting each other; and beg God to bless America again!!!

  9. Doesn’t matter what an “observer” might think: to the officer, he was being pressed by a superior to violate his religious beliefs. Our religious beliefs are PROTECTED by our Constitution of the United States. He should not have been denied his right to refuse the order due to the fact that his employer is mandated to follow Equal Opportunity hiring mandates which protect his religious rights during his employ with same organization.

  10. What would happen to a muslim being required to attend a Christian church and he refused? NOTHING PROBABLY.Most likely would not be asked to do so fo fear of an uprising.
