Disabled Pakistani Christian Girl Threatened With Death

Luke 21:12 But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.

“Most of us have no idea what real persecution is like, and maybe that is why our fellowship is often so fickle and superficial.”

-Jim Bakker in The Refuge

A mentally challenged Pakistani girl who had been released on bail after being accused of blasphemy for burning pages of the Koran is in fear for her life after neighbors threatened to burn her and her family alive inside their home.

The Christian girl’s release on bail is unprecedented in that blasphemy charges are not normally charges that allow bail in Pakistan. However, a local Muslim cleric has been accused of blasphemy and planting evidence against her. He reportedly ripped pages from the Koran and placed them inside the bag with burned pages claiming the disabled girl was responsible for it.

The girl is now accused of burning pages from an Islamic textbook, not the Koran itself. However, the girl was the subject of an attempted kidnapping by a mob when they rushed the family’s house trying to take her despite her father’s protests that she is innocent.

The girl, Rimsha, saved herself by locking herself within the family’s bathroom as several mob members stormed the house. Her 11-year-old sister was traumatized by the incident and mob members attacked her mother.

“They were saying ‘we are going to burn you inside the house’”, Rimsha’s father told the BBC. “We are not going to spare you or your kids. Then we will burn the homes of the other Christians. Even after we left the area, they were saying ‘bring the girl and the family to us. We want to kill them’.”

The father said that the family is illiterate and that they are all Christians so no Muslim texts are in their home.

“We don’t use them and none of us could read them,” he said.

  1. Father, In the Name of Your Son Jesus, we ask for a hand of protection around Rimsha and her family. We ask that you give them peace that will surpass all understanding. We ask for a Band of Angels that will protect them at this time. Lord, protect the neighbors as well. We even ask that the persecuters come to the knowledge of you through all of this. In Jesus Name we Pray, AMEN.

  2. Dear Heavenly Father we ask humbly in Jesus name to protect this girl and her family. wrap your loving hands around her and give them rest and peace in the shadow of your wings. America may not be far behind these people, I believe that Christian persecution is going to get worse all over and in the U.S. too.
we know God has all the power and I praise his name. Amen
