Egyptian Government Denies Press Reports Regarding Dissolving Brotherhood

Luke 21:9-10: [Jesus said] "When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom."

Egyptian government officials are denying multiple media reports that they are working to force the Muslim Brotherhood to dissolve and no longer be able to participate in the next elected government.

The BBC is reporting that a prime ministerial aide has told them the solidarity minister has not formally decided to revoke the Brotherhood’s “non-governmental organization” status. However, other local officials have told the BBC the revocation will happen “within days.”

The buzz on the Brotherhood’s disillusion comes as weekend protests resulted in deaths. Supporters of Mohammed Morsi held protests across the country were at least two people were killed.

Under a 2002 law, NGOs like the Brotherhood are banned from engaging in politics or having a militia.
