Eurozone Unemployment Hits A New Record High

Revelation 6:6 NAS And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine."

Eurozone unemployment surged to a new record high of 18.49 million in September, an increase of 146,000 from August. The unemployment rate of 11.6% is almost a point and a half higher than one year ago.

Spain once again lead the way with an unemployment rate of 25.8%. In Spain and Greece, over half the workforce under 25 is unemployed.

The only economy in the Eurozone that did not contract and see steeper unemployment figures was Germany. The economy as a whole grew 0.3%, unemployment fell to 5.4% and the youth unemployment rate of 8% is now the lowest in the Eurozone.

Across the 27-member European Union, unemployment rose 169,000 to 25.65 million people. The unemployment rate slowly rose to 10.6%.
