Government Torture of Children Reported in Syria

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

“We have so devalued human life in our society that for many people it is a small thing to kill another person.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

The charity “Save The Children” is reporting cases of horrific abuse of children by the Syrian government as the civil war in the nation continues to rage.

The group has called on the United Nations to step in and increase its presence on the ground in hopes it would quell the violence.

“I watched a [6-year-old] die,” a 16-year-old told “Save the Children” during an interview. The boy said he watched the child being tortured and starved. “He only survived for three days and then he simply died.”

A 15-year-old stated he had been burned with cigarettes after being imprisoned in his former school. Another described being given electric shocks while being kept in a cell with decomposing bodies.

“I’ve heard of children as young as 10 being tortured,” Cat Carter of “Save the Children” told the BBC. “Children, as young as eight, [are] helping to remove dead bodies from rubble with their own hands.”

United Nations envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, stated the situation in Syria is “extremely bad and getting worse” during a conference at the UN.

“It is a threat to the region and a threat to peace and security in the world,” Brahimi said. “[There is] no prospect for today or tomorrow to move forward.”
