Heliport Opening Brings Emergency Air Service To Morningside

Another day, another grand opening for the Fourth of July celebrations at Morningside! The Heliport officially opened providing emergency air service to the residents and staff at Morningside.

The services of Mercy LifeLine 1 will allow emergency personnel to arrive at Morningside within 4-6 minutes of a call and then have the person in need of treatment at Mercy Hospital in Springfield within 15-20 minutes.

The average amount of time to drive from Morningside to Springfield is well over an hour.

“Mercy LifeLine is a fitting name for this helicopter,” Philip Cameron said.

The heliport allows Morningside to provide this service to the surrounding community as well. Residents of the area who are in need of air transport can be brought to the heliport even if they are not residents of Morningside.

It’s just another small way that Morningside is giving back to our neighbors.
