Heaven has gained a true Southern Belle leaving those of us that are left behind with a little less sunshine. We are very sad to say goodbye to our sweet and loving friend Donna Douglas. Lori and I remember so well her visit to the show and the enjoyment of getting to know the warm heart of this amazing woman of God.
Donna gained great fame as Elly May Clampett, the only daughter of Jed Clampett, in the popular television series “The Beverly Hillbillies”. When the show ended in 1971, generations continued to fall in love with her character through re-runs. Donna did not run from this fame but embraced it as the perfect way to share her faith and the message of Jesus Christ to all of her fans around the world.
There is no way to measure the many hearts touched by Donna in her lifetime and there will be those who will forever know her only as Elly May. But for all of us, Donna was our friend. We celebrate her life and we will truly miss her.
O yes the memories of my children and I around the TV sets laughing at the funniest antics of Elly May and the Clampets. Those were some of the times we shared as a family in a world so filled with sadness and despair. God Bless all her family and remembrance of God’s creation.

My husband and I met Donna in a strip mall church some years ago, she had a heart for young people and a desire to have them seek the elderly for mentoring. She was a beloved lady, purchased books and tapes for all my grandchildren.
When i was a child she always brought joy to the world thru her character Eli May . I seen interviews with her over the years and she was such a warm , loving person .She’s with the Lord now and we will miss her !
Ellie may brought so much happiness and laughs. God Bless her .
You will b forever missed! What an amazing person u were, and how amazing was your love for JESUS, even though, you never spoke a word! It was seen in your beautiful , blue eyes and in your smile! Rest easily in the arms of your LORD.
