The Holy Spirit wrapped up the first day of the Morningside 4th of July celebration by working through the incredible Marvin Winans.
Marvin Winans brought the message of God, a message of joy and a surprise message of healing to Grace Street tonight.
Pastor Jim, Lori and Marvin spoke about the late Whitney Houston. Marvin shared stories about how Whitney was so close with his family and the impact of that friendship on his family. He spoke of the power of preaching Whitney’s funeral and the way that the Lord worked through everything that happened during that difficult time.
There was also a powerful moment between Marvin and Tammy Sue as she shared about one of Marvin’s songs that ministered to her in some of the darkest times of her life. She recalled the way that the Lord reached out through Marvin’s words and provided comfort.
Marvin shared about the Marvin L. Winans School for the Performing Arts in Detroit and the way the lives of hundreds of youths has been turned around through quality education and encouragement to explore their creative abilities.
Marvin also made a $5,000 donation to continue the construction of Lori’s House that was matched by someone attending the show!
The evening set a very high bar for the rest of the Fourth of July celebrations at Morningside!
