Nigeria Declared The Most Lethal For Christians

Revelation 6:9-11 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

As the president of Nigeria looks to negotiate amnesty with the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram, a report has shown that 70% of the Christians killed for their faith worldwide happen within that country’s borders.

Boko Haram has been launching terror attacks against Christians and the government for the last few years in an attempt to overthrow the government and install strict Sharia Law. The group has said previously they would stop their attacks in return for amnesty. President Goodluck Jonathan commissioned a 25-member panel to look into ways to implement amnesty for the terrorists.

Most Christian organizations in the country are opposed to the commission.

Almost 1,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria in 2012. More than 100 have died in the first months of 2013.

In the last few years African nations have jumped up the lists of nations where Christians face the most religious persecution.
