II Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
If a Christian parent wants to homeschool their children in Ohio, a Democratic state senator wants to make sure the government approves of what they will be teaching their children.
Ohio Senate Bill 248 was introduced that will require any parent who wants to homeschool their child to meet with government social workers for interviews, have background checks conducted and give permission for government intervention.
If the state doesn’t approve the parents, they won’t be allowed to homeschool.
Social workers would not be required to obtain training or qualifications to determine if parents are capable of being able to educate their children using homeschool materials.
There is nothing in the bill that protects someone from being denied because a social worker takes issue with their religious beliefs.
If the bill passes, thousands of Christian homeschool families in the state will now be investigated by the government and must allow the government access to all parts of their lives if they wish to continue to educate their children.
Fortunately, this onerous legislation was withdrawn, apparently right as this article was being prepared!

Never thought I’d thank God for Illinois! They were fine with paper work when we homeschooled our kids, even though I did have to schedule every minute of every day for the required hours.
This law is called “Teddy’s Law” after a young boy who was pulled out of public school in Struthers, Ohio just outside Youngstown. Shortly after his mother began home-schooling him, Teddy was beaten to death by the mother’s live-in boyfriend. The contention is that he was being “home-schooled” so no one would see his bruises, as beatings were a regular thing with this “boyfriend.” Both the mother and the boyfriend have faced charges and been sent to prison with serious sentences. The state senator who was supporting the law (for her own purposes, I’m sure) is Capri Cafaro, who is herself from a family with a history of political corruption. It was announced yesterday that she is “backing off” of Teddy’s Law due to the pressures being put on her office by home-schooling organizations. Keep praying.
