School Sued For Charging Pro-Life Group for Security

Matthew 19:18 ESV “And Jesus said, “You shall not murder…”

Editor’s Note: Throughout the scriptures, God has made it clear that shedding innocent blood is murder, and no murderer will enter heaven. In addition to the death of the unborn baby, abortion also substantially harms the women and many times, families, husbands, boyfriends and a whole sphere of relationships connected to and surrounding each abortion. Often, lifelong guilt and other social, relational, spiritual and even physical problems follow the murder of innocent babes in the womb. Pastor Jim Bakker believes that this issue, abortion, may be the single most significant issue that brings God’s judgment on this nation more than any other.

The University of Buffalo decided that a pro-life group having a debate to stand up for the lives of unborn children was so “controversial” that they ordered them to pay for security at their rally. School officials then charged the group more than $150 OVER the student group’s entire Student Association funding after the event.

The officers who were “working” the event included one who sat outside the building and read the newspaper while the debate went on inside. There were no major incidents at the debate.

At the same time, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and UB Freethinkers held a debate on the campus between a Christian and an atheist. The University didn’t require either group to provide security for their debate and were not charged by University officials.

UB Students for Life has sued the University claiming that their free expression was being singled out by the University and that they were attempting to stop pro-life students from speaking against abortion on campus by charging unconstitutionally high fees.

“University officials cannot arbitrarily decide to deem an event ‘controversial’ and then weigh down students with burdensome fees to engage in constitutionally protected free speech,” David Hacker of the Alliance Defending Freedom told FOX News.

University of Buffalo officials declined comment.
