Syrian Civil War Sees Bloodiest Day

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

“We have so devalued human life in our society that for many people it is a small thing to kill another person.”

-Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is reporting that Wednesday marked the bloodiest day of the 18-month-old civil war with 305 people killed in the fighting. SOHR reported that 199 of the dead were civilians.

“If we count the unidentified bodies [which are not counted in official totals,] the figure will be much higher,” Rami Abdel Rahman of SOHR told the BBC.

Also Wednesday the United Nations released a report that the number of refugees from Syria could be 7 times higher than estimated earlier this year. The UN’s March estimate was 100,000 civilians would leave before the end of 2012 and that number has been revised to over 700,000.

The total number of refugees topped 100,000 in July. The UN has stated that between 2,000 and 3,000 refugees are leaving the country every day. The report said many refugees are living in tents and the agency is struggling to prepare for winter.
