A U.S. military base in eastern Afghanistan has been attacked by Taliban terrorists resulting in the deaths of at least three terrorists.
The attack on Torkham base came after the terrorists attacked and burned NATO supply trucks creating a flaming barricade for anyone attempting to reach the base.
While the attack was not considered a major military victory as no Afghan or U.S. soldiers died, officials say the financial toll could be severe. The NATO trucks were severely damaged and the highway has been closed because of the attack. The road is a key supply route.
Officials say the base is a key stopping point for NATO vehicles in the region.
