“I heard a huge bang and when I looked I saw several attackers armed with light and heavy weapons running towards the bank and the court,” a local shopkeeper told the BBC. “There is blood and broken glass. There is a heavy exchange of gunfire and my shop has become a center of the fighting.”
The Afghani forces reported that maps were found in the pockets of killed terrorists showing that they had gathered inside intelligence prior to the assault.
