Terrorists detonated a “massive” roadside bomb in northern Afghanistan killing 18 people who were on a bus going to a wedding party.
Mostly women and children were killed.
“Planting a mine on a road used by civilians and the killing of innocent people represents hostility toward humanity,” Afghan President Hamid Karzai said in a statement.
A BBC correspondent said at least 15 others were wounded in the attack. The bride and groom were not on the bus that was attacked.
A surgeon treating the wounded at a Mazar-e-Sharif hospital told the BBC that most of the wounded were in critical condition.
