Terrorists attacked a police outpost in central Afghanistan has killed 11 policemen and 6 others.
The attack infiltrated a sleeping quarters in the compound where the 17 men were killed while they slept. The Islamists reportedly poisoned the men before shooting them. Police officials say the six who were not officers likely were visiting friends at the base when they were killed.
Two guards from the base are under arrest and are facing questions about why they did nothing to stop the attack.
The area has been facing weaker security in the last year after a local uprising against the terrorists came to an end according to the BBC.
Al-Qaeda also carried out a homicide bombing in Kabul on Wednesday, wounding 10 when a terrorists in a bomb vest crawled under a bus and detonated his explosives.
The news comes as the U.S.-led military force in the region revised their report on terrorist activity to show no decrease in activity after previously claiming a 7% drop in terror acts.
