The Taliban has stormed a hotel in northern Pakistan killing at least 10 people with 9 of the dead foreign tourists.
Officials wouldn’t release the full list of victims but confirmed that Chinese nationals and Ukrainians are among the dead.
The attack happened on the base camp of Nanga Parbat, the world’s ninth tallest mountain. The attack by the Taliban was the first in the region and reportedly retaliation for the U.S. killing the Taliban’s second-in-command in May drone strike.
The Taliban promised to continue targeting foreigners.
Witnesses said the terrorists showed up dressed as local paramilitary officers and opened fire around 10:45 p.m. local time.
