A federal grand jury had indicted two friends of Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in connection to their attempts to cover up the terror attack.
Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, both Kazakhstani nationals, were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstructing justice with the intent to impede the bombing investigation.
The men were originally charged with conspiring to obstruct justice on May 1st.
The lawyers for the two men say they had no role in the bombings. They face up to 20 years in prison on the obstruction of justice count if convicted on those charges. Both also face the possibility of being deported.
