Netanyahu Says Israel Will Fight Islamic State

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will step up and be a part of the international coalition to destroy the Islamic terrorist group Islamic State.

Netanyahu addressed the statements of President Obama in an address where he also warned Iran against acquiring nuclear weapons.  Netanyahu said that Islamic State is no different than terror groups like Hamas, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram and al-Shabab.

“These groups must be fought. They must be rolled back and they must ultimately be defeated. That’s why Israel fully supports President Obama’s call for united actions against ISIS,” Netanyahu said.

“All civilized countries should stand together in the fight against the radical terrorism currently sweeping the Middle East, Netanyahu added. “And we are playing our part in this continued effort. Some of the things are known; some of the things are less known.”

Netanyahu said to the Muslims around the world they need to realize that Israel is an ally against Islamic extremism and that perhaps some Arab nations need to re-evaluate their relationships with Israel.

“They understand Israel is not their enemy but their ally in the fight against this common enemy. I believe that presents an opportunity for cooperation and perhaps an opportunity for peace.”

Leader of Somali Islamist Group Killed

The U.S. has confirmed the head of an Islamist group in Somalia has been killed s part of a U.S. drone strike.

Ahmed Abdi Godane, who had run the group Al-Shabab during terror attacks in Somalia along with attacks on Christian villages and churches in surrounding countries, died when a drone strike took out a facility used for terrorist training.  Ten other terrorists died in the attack.

President Obama hailed the successful strike as an example of his administration’s plan to fight terrorism.

“Godane’s removal is a major symbolic and operational loss to the largest Al Qaeda affiliate in Africa and reflects years of painstaking work by our intelligence, military and law enforcement professionals,” the White House said in a statement.

Al-Shabab is most notorious for the assault on Kenya’s Westgate Mall that killed 68 people and wounded 200.

U.S. Attacks Al-Qaeda Related Group In Somalia

A U.S. drone strike targeted the leader of an Islamic terrorist group in Somalia on Monday.

Pentagon officials confirmed the U.S. targeted the head of Al-Shabaab, a Al-Qaeda related group that had been fighting against the Somalia government.

“We are assessing the results of the operation and will provide additional information as and when appropriate,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said.

Somali officials say that Ahmed Abdi Godane, the leader of al-Shabaab, might have been killed in the strike and they’re working to confirm his death.  The air strike came after al-Shabaab attacked a high security prison in an attempt to free several terrorists.  All terrorists were reported killed in the assault along with three government soldiers and two civilians.

The U.S. has periodically carried out air strikes in Somalia against terrorist headquarters and training centers.

Al-Shabaab is mostly active in rural areas of the country after losing control of major cities in 2011 after an offensive from Somali and African Union forces.

ISIS To U.S.: We Will Drown You In Blood

The Islamic extremists who have taken over large parts of Iraq and Syria have posted a message online to America.

We will drown you in blood.

The Islamic State said Tuesday that it will attack Americans “in any place” because of the air strikes against their terrorist groups and that they would “drown” Americans in blood.  The message, which was in English, was accompanied by photographs of victims of snipers in Iraq and an American who was beheaded during the Iraq War.

The U.S. airstrikes on the terrorist group has allowed Kurdish forces to make gains in the last week.  On Monday the fighters were able to take back the country’s largest dam that provides power to most of Iraq.

The off-shoot group of Al-Qaeda, which was determine to be “too extreme” for the Al-Qaeda leadership, has so far focused on capturing land for their own Islamic state rather than launching western attacks.  However, the airstrikes from the U.S. is the first direct assault on the terrorists by a major western power.

ISIS Too Extreme For Osama Bin Laden

While the world has only recently become aware of the brutality and extremism of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, late Taliban leader Osama Bin Laden reportedly had been warned about the group before his death in 2011.

The London Daily Mail is reporting that a letter found in the Bin Laden compound after the removal of Osama Bin Laden outlined the dangers of the group calling themselves the Islamic State.

The letter had Bin Laden calling for anyone connected to al-Qaeda to immediately sever their ties with Islamic State because of their “extreme brutality” and said the group obtained and had been using chemical weapons even on mosques.

The United States began air strikes last week against ISIS over their continued attempts to take over Iraq.   The U.S. also has announced they will be providing weapons to the Kurdish fighters in the northern part of Iraq to help drive the terrorists away from villages housing tens of thousands of Christian and Jewish refugees.

International aid drops have been conducted in northern regions where the terrorists have trapped refugees in mountain regions.

Boko Haram Terror Attack Kills 5 In Kano Nigeria

The Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram has made another deadly attack on a Christian church in Nigeria.

The terrorists bombed Saint Charles Catholic Church in Kano, Nigeria on Sunday, killing at least 5 people and wounding 8 others.  The bombing happened shortly after the ending of Sunday mass as the crowd was beginning to leave the building.  Police estimate the weapon was an IED thrown from across the road.

The attack was one of two attempted in Kano on Sunday.  A woman wearing a homicide bomb vest was surrounded and isolated by police, detonating her device where she could not cause damage.  Five officers were slightly wounded when she detonated the device.

In a surprising show of support to the Christian community of Kano, Muslim officials cancelled the city’s celebrating of the Eid festival marking the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan.

Government officials say that Boko Haram has started receiving weapons and training from other al-Qaeda related groups like Al-Shabab in Somalia.

Islamic Terrorists Declare Islamic State

The Islamic extremist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has declared that the land they have taken from the Syrian and Iraqi government is now their own country ruled by Islamist law.

In an audio released for the first day of Ramadan, the group says the new nation runs from Aleppo in northwest Syria through Diyala province in northeast Iraq.  The group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was named the “imam and khalifah for Muslims everywhere.”

The group said that all Muslim groups around the world should pledge allegiance to them.

Experts in the region say the declaration by ISIS could have a backfiring impact on their goal for an Islamic state.

“Now the insurgents in Iraq have no excuse for working with ISIS if they were hoping to share power with ISIS,” analyst Aymenn al-Tamimi, told The Associated Press. “The prospect of infighting in Iraq is increased for sure.”

Other middle east observers believe this is a tipping point in the power struggles among Islamic extremists groups worldwide, as the ISIS is now positioning itself to replace al-Qaeda.  The two groups have a contentious relationship after al-Qaeda denounced al-Baghdadi in February.

Christians Fleeing Mosul, Other Iraqi Cities

Christians throughout Iraq have suddenly found their lives in danger as Islamic extremists attempt to overthrow the government.

The Al-Qaeda related group Islamic State of Iraq has launched a military style offensive against the Iraqi government, taking over the cities of Mosul and Maiji.  The cities allow them to control the nation’s largest oil refinery and over $425 million in gold stored in the Mosul central bank.

In addition to the attempt to overthrow the government, they have been killing Christians who refuse to convert to Islam.

“What we are living and what we have seen over the last two days is horrible and catastrophic. The priory of Mar Behnam and other churches fell into the hands of the rebels this morning … and now they have come here and entered Qaraqosh five minutes ago, and we are now surrounded and threatened with death … pray for us,” Fr. Najeeb Michaeel wrote online from Mosul.

“Many thousands of armed men from the Islamic Groups of Da’ash (another name for ISIS or ISIL) have attacked the city of Mosul for the last two days. They have assassinated adults and children. The bodies have been left in the streets and in the houses by the hundreds, without pity. The regular forces and the army have also fled the city, along with the governor.”

After the last decade of attacks from Islamists, the number of Christians in Iraq has fallen from 1.5 million to less than 400,000.

Al-Qaeda Hanging Victims On Crosses

In their latest round of terror and blasphemy against Christ, terrorist group al-Qaeda has taken to hanging murder victims on crosses for public display.

A Syrian opposition group said that al-Qaeda based Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant killed dozens in the Syrian city of Ar-Raqqah and then hung the bodies on crosses with messages warning against standing up against Islamists.

Abu Ibrahim Alrquaoui, the head of a group called Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Slowly, says the move is the latest attempt by the Islamists to control the region through fear tactics.

“They want to stay in control,” Alrquaoui told Fox News.  “Everything they do is to scare people.  That’s why they kill people publicly.”

Jihadists across Syria have been resorting to the tactic of hanging victims on crosses for the last few months.  Most of the victims are not actually left to die hanging on the crosses but are rather shot in the head after being lifted up.

Al Qaeda Head Calls For Kidnapping Of Americans

The head of terrorist group Al Qaeda is calling on members worldwide to kidnap Americans to use for bargaining chips for the release of Muslim terrorists.

Ayman al-Zawahiri told the As-Sahab news service that Muslims should kidnap Westerners, especially Americans, so that they can be exchanged for what he called “captives” in Western prisons.

Al-Zawahiri spoke specifically of Omar Abdel-Rahman, known as the “blind sheikh”, that is serving a life sentence for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.

“I ask Allah the Glorious to help us set free Dr. Omar Abdel-Rahman and the rest of the captive Muslims,” al-Zawahiri said, “and I ask Allah to help us capture from among the Americans and the Westerners to enable us to exchange them for our captives.”

Al-Zawahiri also called on warring Muslim factions in Syria to come together in unity to overthrow the “criminal al-Assad regime.”
