Bombing Campaign Kills 25 In Iraq

A bombing campaign carried out through a series of car and truck bombs roared through multiple towns and villages in northern Iraq with at least 25 confirmed dead.

The towns are in an area of the country in dispute between the Iraqi government and the Kurdish minority that lives in the region. The Kurds govern a region in the north that is considered autonomous. Continue reading

Taliban Homicide Bomber Attacks Funeral

A homicide bomber attacked a funeral in eastern Afghanistan killing at least 25 civilians and the son of a district governor.

The mourners were attending a funeral for an influential tribal elder in the border district of Dur Baba. The homicide bomber infiltrated the parade of mourners before detonating his device.

Terrorists Kill Dozens In Afghanistan

A series of bombings targeting Muslims preparing for the end of Ramadan have killed at least 42 and wounded 130.

The attacks struck at opposite ends of the country and were clearly aimed at civilians.

Four homicide bombers killed 30 in the market areas of the city of Zaranj. Intelligence officials in Zaranj told the BBC that they have arrested several other homicide bombers and said as many at 14 may be in the city. Al-Qaeda Kills 45 In Yemen

Yemeni government officials announced that al-Qaeda is responsible for a homicide bombing this weekend that killed 45 people and injured dozens.

The homicide bomber walked into a funeral in the city of Jaar and detonated his explosive belt. The service was conducted by a group of tribal militiamen who have supported the Yemeni military in their attempts to eliminate al-Qaeda in the nation. Continue reading
