For two days, a raging river of wisdom flowed down Grace Street as prophet Rick Joyner visited the Jim Bakker Show once again. Rick is a dear friend of the ministry, and as Pastor Jim Bakker says, he’s not just a friend, “ he’s a valley-walking friend.”
Referring to their relationship, Rick shared a dream that God had given him about one of his own children who had fallen into a sewage ditch. It seems there were multitudes of people standing around watching but only one pushed through the crowd and helped this child out of the ditch and cleaned him up. Rick said the Lord said to him, “Jim Bakker is MY child. Will you help him?”
To this day, Rick stands shoulder to shoulder with Pastor Bakker.
Rick spoke on a range of topics from economics to weather to Revelation to the direction he had from God to help Pastor Jim Bakker after he was released from prison.
On the issue of economics, Rick brought some very staggering realities to light along with a fresh perspective.
Recalling the news headlines regarding Greece’s dire economic situation, Rick said, “we are not far behind Greece. We’re going down the same road.”
“We’ve hit the debt wall. We are now buying two-thirds of our own debt,” Rick said he read recently in the Wall Street Journal. He also said that the IMF research on U.S. debt states that it is far beyond the 16 trillion that is reported, it is more like 50 – 65 trillion.
“There are Kingdom economics,” Rick said. “We live based on that which will not be shaken.”
No matter the condition of the world’s economic systems, Rick reminded the crowd, God will always be on His throne and nothing is going to happen that doesn’t advance God’s ultimate plan of salvation and redemption. He reiterated the importance of remembering the Good News.
“The good news is that the King is coming back!” Rick declared to a roar of approval from those in attendance.
However, Kingdom economics also include an element of tribulation, but he said that in every tribulation there is a door to the Kingdom there! He encouraged everyone, “don’t waste your trials! Ask the Lord where the door is to the Kingdom!” In referring to the uncertain times we are living in where everything seems to be shaking, Rick made one of the most profound statements we’ve heard. “It’s not the end of the world! It’s the beginning of the Kingdom!”
Now that’s Good News.
Pastor Jim and Rick talked about the false doctrines permeating the Church because of proof-texting. He said that too many are just “trusting God” and not preparing for the tough times that are coming. Although “trusting God” and “the battle is the Lord’s” is preached fervently, “stand” is only mentioned twice but “fight” is mentioned 200 times in the Bible!
Because of the lack of solid teaching, Rick said that we are making ‘converts’ and not ‘disciples’ in our churches. Without solid teaching, many will not be able to stand in the day of adversity. He said only 6% of those who claim to be born again have a biblical world view.
Rick and Pastor Jim discussed the importance of being a ‘bondslave’ of Christ!
Rick shared his views on different religions and the ways that Christ can be brought to them. He spoke of Mormons and mentioned that he knew many of them who are fervently in love with Jesus. He said that Mormons and Catholics are on the front lines of many of the crucial issues of our time and are fighting hard for truth in a society that is increasingly getting darker. “I’m glad to be standing beside them to fight for what’s right and stand for God.”
There was also a moment of stunned silence when Rick brought a word that seemed to cut to the heart of everyone in attendance.
“There is no place for cowardice in true Christianity,” he said.
He then spoke of the way that fear is hated by God and how much fear can hold back someone from their purpose in life as defined by God. He shared how the devil uses fear as a tool to control people.
“And what many people do not realize,” Rick said. “The first people thrown into the lake of fire will be the cowardly!”
Rick then expounded on that truth in saying that those who love Jesus need to take a stand with “boldness and courage” because that’s the kind of faith that God will reward in the end.
To get ready for what’s coming in the Last Days, Rick gave two very strong, yet straightforward words:
1. Simplify – get rid of stuff that’s distracting you.
2. Worship God – believe the resurrection, not the doctrine of the resurrection!
Each and every visit with Prophet Rick brings wisdom and revelation to those who have ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts that understand what he has to say. The Bible says that if you “receive a prophet in the name of a prophet, you will receive a prophet’s reward.” Matthew 10:41
