Argentina Flooding Death Toll Rises

Luke 21:25,26 NAS “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay (tension from difficult circumstances that "won't move" which produces distress or anguish – causing someone to feel "locked in" or “tightly pressed”) among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting (lose morale, become disheartened, like lapsing into temporary unconsciousness) from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world...

The flash flooding in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas has killed at least 57 people. The suburb of La Plata had the highest total of 51 dead.

The government reports that the flood has destroyed over 100,000 homes. Power is still out throughout the region as most lines were knocked down during the flooding. Government workers are distributing water, food and clothing.

So far rescue workers have cleared almost 6,000 homes without finding more bodies. At least 20 people have been confirmed as missing by the government.

The storm, described as something they had “never seen” by provincial governor Daniel Scioli, dumped 16 inches of rain in two hours on the region. Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner visited the region where her mother still lives and pledged more government support.

Police are trying to keep looters from the region. Just hours before the President arrived in the area, dozens of people looted a nearby supermarket.
