Bill Whaley is a Vietnam War Veteran.  He served from 1966 to 1994 as a helicopter pilot. He has always tinkered at home with building and finding inexpensive ways to repair things around the house.  He began teaching self-sufficiency to people living in homeless shelters. He showed them how to stay warm, how to heat their tents, and how to purify water.

Pastor Jim & Lori Bakker met Bill Whaley at the “2011 Get Prepared Expo” they attended last September. Pastor Jim was fascinated with how Bill could take things we would consider junk and turn them into useful items like a cooking stove or heating source.
