Hamas has announced they will not extend the current cease-fire unless they see “real progress” during negotiations in Cairo.
Hamas did not make clear what they would consider “real progress.”
Egypt had presented a revised draft for a long-term cease-fire that would be implemented in two steps by early 2015. Hamas rejected the deal outright. It would have called for Israel to open border crossings and withdraw troops from the buffer zone in the Gaza strip. Deals for prisoners, an airport and seaport would be delayed for a month in negotiations.
The current cease-fire ends at midnight.
Meanwhile, a reporter for the Associated Press was killed along with a translator working for AP when a rocket shot into Israel from the IDF exploded as technicians were disarming it. Simone Camilli, 35, had been working with AP since 2005. An AP photographer, Hatem Moussa, was one of four people seriously injured in the blast.
Camilli is the first foreign journalist to die during the current Gaza conflict.
He is a wild man: his hand is against everyone and everyone’s hand is against him. Cast out with his mother to die of thirst in the wilderness, he longs to come home. Jesus is the answer to his longing to be blessed by his father, Abraham. Jesus is the answer to his longing to be ‘close to his god’. Allah can’t answer that call. Only Jesus can. O God, we thank you for open doors. We thank you for protecting Israel in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Lord God. But you have salvation and blessing and prosperity for Ishmael too. We ask life of you for Ishmael, Father God. Jesus is the answer for him too, and for every Muslim who will find it in their hearts to humble themselves under the mighty hand of God, and receive the eternal salvation offered through Christ, and him alone. We pray for hearts to turn to the living God in repentance and faith believing that same God, who sent an angel in the wilderness to show where the water was, is alive and willing to give that living water from which you will never thirst! O God! I cry for my brother, Ishmael! Let him find his place in you now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
