In a sudden announcement that caught Catholics around the world off guard, Pope Benedict XVI said he will resign at the end of February, becoming the first pontiff to step down in nearly 600 years.
The 85-year-old pontiff made the announcement Monday, saying he no longer had the strength to carry out his papal duties.
“After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry,” the pope said according to a statement released by the Vatican.

This is probably the “something big that is about to happen” that you have been predicting even more than the earthquake and sunami report you gave on air. Something big is about to happen. It will affect the whole world and bring in the antichrist himself. I am being affected in my body and soul because of what is about to occur and have been for days. I am in good health and it is not from sickness of body. I am not afraid. My spirit feels this as well and I know it is from The Lord of Heaven and earth. The Lord is grieving about what is about occur on earth, but it is to cleanse the world of ALL evil. We must HOLD ON! and TRUST! TRUST! TRUST! our Lord! His MERCY endures FOREVER!

Well, as has been said, Pope John Paul, though beloved by millions around the world was not physically or mentally able to tend his flock in his last few years of life,, he stayed on until his death.
Pope Benedict XVI KNEW he could no longer be the shepard guarding his flock so he rationally has abdicated his throne so a New, Healthy Pope could replace him & properly tend his flock…

Wasn’t there a prophecy by someone in Ireland hundreds of years ago concerning the number of Pope’s and what the role of the last pope would be? Just wondering.
Some information you all may find very revealing is that St. Malachi claims he had a vision from God many centuries ago in that he saw the 112th pope would be an evil pope and that he would take the name, Peter the Roman. Let’s see if the new pope does indeed take this name and let’s watch his actions and how he instructs the church toward or away from traditional morality. Also, a man named Malachi Martin wrote a book about the last conclave. I have not read it but heard that it pertains to this stunning prophecy. Also, all the Catholic popes dared not take this name of Peter, considering it irreverent to do so since they felt the first pope (which they believe the apostle Peter to be) be the only pope to bear this name.

I loved him, he will be missed I will pray for him.I believe even a short time as a Pope he will leave a good legacy.
