President Obama Interview: “More difficult to defend Israel”

Zechariah 12:3 “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

Editor's Note: Jim Bakker teaches to watch Israel closely because it is the prophetic timeclock for the unfolding of Last Days events. In Matthew 24, Israel is the fig tree that the Lord told His people to observe to understand the times. It is like a barometer of what is happening in the nations.

During a recent interview with an Israeli television station,  President Obama  said that the international community is not convinced that Israel is serious about a two state solution, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has placed so many conditions to its establishment that it is unrealistic to think it could come into existence in the near future.

“Subsequently his statements have suggested that there is a possibility of a Palestinian state, but it has so many caveats, so many conditions, that it is not realistic to think that those conditions will be met anytime in the near future,” Obama told Channel 2.

Obama also said Netanyahu’s stand would make it more difficult for the U.S. to “defend Israel” around the world.

“If in fact there is no prospect of a peace process, if no one believes there is a peace process, it becomes more difficult to argue with those who are concerned about settlement construction, more difficult for me to say, ‘Be patient, we have a process here.’”

Obama explained that he does not at this point believe there is a likelihood for any kind of framework agreement between the sides to emerge, but that he hopes to work with them to find a way to move from what appears to be a hopeless situation, back to one where there is some hope.

“That is going to be hard work, because right now there is not a lot of confidence in the process.”

The President also addressed the ongoing nuclear negotiations claiming that  he cares very much  about the Israeli people. Obama said that he understands – given the realities of the region and the nature of Israel’s enemies – why Israelis are so concerned about security.

“I care very much about the people of Israel as well, and in my mind it is very much in Israel’s interest to make sure that Iran does not have a nuclear weapon, and I think that I can demonstrate, not based on any hope, but on facts, evidence and analysis, that the best way to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon is a verifiable tough agreement. A military resolution will not fix it, even if the United States participates, it would temporarily slow down an Iranian nuclear program, but not eliminate it.”

The President then directed his thought to the Israeli leadership, saying that just like he had to do some changes after taking office due to the Iraq war where he felt America “lost our values”, that Israeli leaders need to do the same.

“I respectfully suggest that Israel has to do that same self-reflecting, because if it doesn’t, then there are things that you can lose that don’t just involve rockets.”

  1. It has been spoken how many times ” if America divides Isreal I will divide America”. In all honesty hearing this talk makes it very hard for me to pray for him as i should.

  2. You know Obama’s always talking about how Israel is putting conditions and caveats on the peace process but he never addresses the issue of the recognition of Israel by the PLA or the rest of the Arab world. All Israel wants is Peace any kind of agreement with these people without this recognition would be suicide for the Israeli nation. The return to the 48 borders and the return of the refugees would be the demise of Israel. Obama hates Israel he wants it destroyed just read the agreement with Iran. He has it that the US will now protect these sites in Iran in case of a Israeli attack. This man is evil wake up America.

    • OH WOE TO US,WE HAVE A HATER FOR PRESIDENT,I CRINGE WHEN I SEE HIM,I CANNOT EVEN WATCH HIM,THE MAN IS AS EVIL AS THEY COME,I CANNOT AGREE HE HAS NOT BEEN IMPEACHED.GOD SAVE THE USA,WE AND OUR ALLIES ARE BEING DESTROYED FROM WITHIN,AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THIS?

  3. Look who we have for a president,God is allowing this evil administration to be used to usher in His kingdom, anyone with a brain can see this, obama is a tool being used by the enemy of all Christians to try to take Israels land away,we as Christians can all see this. When you have an evil leader what do you expect? He stands for everything that we Christians are against, look at what he has done,he has gotten marriage redifined,no longer a man and woman to be legal,he stands for all pro abortion laws,he has made it known that we are not the friend we have always been to Israel,we have turned our backs on them,he has helped take prayer out of places and the armed forces also.Woe unto us,JUDGEMENT WILL COME.GOD IS NOT MOCKED! I can only prepare for the wrath of God that is headed our way,You know I look back at 9/11 and I remember how this country united in prayer, the churches were full, people was praying, falling on their faces before God,repenting,i hope that we wake up,before a tradegy or disaster occurs,I hope it is not too late,i fear for my grandchildren,How much worse can we become as a nation?

  4. The president tries to come across as caring about the Israel people in this interview. The fact is his actions show no such concern. He has been the most anti-Israel president that we ever had. Also, his silence on the murder of Christians around the world and his refusal to call these murders Islamic extremist says a lot about what he really stands for.Look up and pray for the peace of Israel.

  5. Jim, you are the only one who is telling it like it is. Because I know you are right am trying to convince people to prepare but no one listens and say “God will take care of us” Why difd God give us a brain and the Holy Bible if we just sit and wait for God to do it all. As I see it, unless God reveals Himself to us we are hopeless. The Lord is telling his people what to do. If we don’t put a seed into the ground, nothing will come up.
