Proposed Virginia Abortion Laws Draw Ire Of Abortion Advocates

Editor’s Note: Throughout the scriptures, God has made it clear that shedding innocent blood is murder, and no murderer will enter heaven. In addition to the death of the unborn baby, abortion also substantially harms the women and many times, families, husbands, boyfriends and a whole sphere of relationships connected to and surrounding each abortion. Often, lifelong guilt and other social, relational, spiritual and even physical problems follow the murder of innocent babes in the womb. Pastor Jim Bakker believes that this issue, abortion, may be the single most significant issue that brings God’s judgment on this nation more than any other.

The Virginia Board of Health is considering a new set of regulations that have infuriated those who promote abortion.

The new regulations would require abortion clinics to meet the same building standards as newly constructed hospitals. All abortion locations, whether new or previously built, will need to meet the same level of safety for patients regardless of location and size.

Those promoting abortion say the new standards could force most of the state’s 20 abortion clinics to close.

“It is time that our legislators and our policymakers and our attorney general start listening to scientific data, evidence based medicine and not ignore it,” Democratic Senator and Lieutenant Governor candidate Ralph Northam said. “And most importantly it is time for them to listen to women and keep the government out of their lives.”

However, Chris Freund of the Family Foundation of Virginia says the regulations are necessary after health inspections last year showed problems at clinics. Over 100 violations were found at clinics.

A final vote is expected on the regulations before the end of the year. The board reversed an earlier decision after a public hearing last year and voted 13-2 to not exempt existing abortion clinics from the new standards of patient safety and care.

  1. My maiden name is Greenier. I live in Virginia. I am the aunt (blood relative) of Katherine (Kathy) Greenier, the attorney for the Virginia ACLU who so vehemently opposes this proposal. I am against abortion and consider it the taking of a human life and a sin against God. I wonder if she realizes that she is able to proclaim her beliefs and obtain her education because she was not aborted.Praise God for the protection of her life.
