Luke 21:20-22 “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.
The Jewish Federation of Nashville has joined with a group of parents to protest a textbook that compares a suicide terrorist bombing to the land disputes between Israel and Palestine.
The offensive question reads: “If a Palestinian suicide bomber kills several dozen Israeli teenagers in a Jerusalem restaurant, is that an act of terrorism or wartime retaliation against Israeli government policies and army actions?”
A parent in the Williamson County school district and president of a pro-Israel group calls the question blatantly anti-semitic.
“It is insinuating that these Palestinian suicide bombers have a legitimate right to blow up innocent Israeli teenagers in a Jerusalem restaurant,” she told Fox News. “That is unacceptable.”
Director of Schools Mike Looney downplayed the concerns of the parents saying that they’re taking the question out of context.
“We will be glad to take a look at it, but we are not going to throw out the process,” he said. “These are highly intellectual, advanced classes that stretch students minds and often focus on debating sensitive cultural issues is not something new.”
