Syria Funeral Attacked My Car Bomb; 12 Killed

Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

“Hardly a day goes by when our senses are not bludgeoned by some new outbreak of terrorism in the Middle East.  Despite our best efforts at making and keeping the peace, political, economic, and religious tensions often lead to unrest, violence, and riots.”  Jim Bakker in “Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse”

A car bomb exploded in Damascus as a funeral procession passed killing 12 people and injuring 48. The bomb was reportedly placed inside a taxi that drove up to the procession. Reports say that several vehicles and buildings were damaged by the blast.

The attack came amid increased assaults between Syrian troops and Free Syrian Army rebel forces.

The BBC reports that heavy shelling has increased in Damascus as opposition troops have been regrouping in parts of the capital city after the government claims to have driven out the troops a month ago. The rebels have focused on a guerrilla-style hit and run attack method against government forces.

Fighting has also moved to the Idlib province where activists say 13 people have been killed by a government air strike.

The UN has reported that over 5,000 refugees a day are fleeing Syria into Trukey and that the total of refugees could soon reach 200,000.
