Terrorists Kill Over 107 In Iraq

More terrorist bombings and shootings have left over 107 confirmed dead in Iraq on Thursday and medical officials say it’s likely the final death toll will be higher.

Most of the dead are Iraqi Security Forces and they appear to have been the targets of the assaults. At least 41 people were killed in the biggest assault on a Sunni neighborhood north of Baghdad. At least 19 Iraqi towns and cities were hit in the coordinated attacks.

In addition to the deaths, at least 216 people were wounded marking one of the bloodiest days of the year.

Officials in Kirkuk said at least five car bombs went off in the city. Mosul officials reported at least 9 dead and a bombing in Sadr city killed at least 16.

Analysts believe that al-Qaeda is trying to deepen a sectarian crisis within the government. All of the main targets in the attacks were major past targets of al-Qaeda.
