UN Weapon Inspectors To Enter Syria

Revelation 6:3-4 NCV When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" Then another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take away peace (prosperity, rest) from the earth and to make people kill each other (butcher, slaughter, to maim violently, in streets), and he was given a big sword (assassins sword, terrorist, loud, mighty, sore afraid).

The Syrian government has agreed to allow UN weapons inspectors to visit three sites where chemical weapons were reportedly used against rebel forces.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the inspectors would be leaving “as soon as possible” and are expected to visit the site outside Aleppo where 27 people were reportedly killed by chemical weapons earlier this year.

Khan al-Assal, the location where the weapons were used, was under government control when the weapons were used. Rebels captured the city on July 22nd.

The other two sites are believed to be near Homs and Damascus.

The UN team is under a mandate to determine if chemical weapons were used but not to determine who used the weapons. The US, UK, and France have evidence that the government used the weapons while the Russia, the Syrian government’s ally, claims they can prove it’s the rebels who used the devices.
